Chlorinated Solvents

Chlorinated solvents are a large family of chemical compounds that are usually composed of one or two carbon atoms with one chlorine atom covalently bonded. These solvents are especially useful within a myriad of industry applications as they are capable of dissolving a wide range of organic substances. They also possess characteristics such as low flammability, inertness to chemical reactivity; and a moderate to rapid rate of evaporation.   The chlorinated solvents are commonly used for fluorocarbon manufacture, waxes, solvents for fats, resins, fire extinguishers, oils, organic synthesis, polymer manufacture, chemical intermediate, extraction of caffeine, vapour degreasing, heat exchange medium, aerosol propellant, foam plastic blowing agents, paint removers, pesticides, glues, and a host of other mixing and thinning solutions. Their chlorine-containing chemical structure helps them to serve as raw materials or intermediates in the production of other chemicals.

Most common Chlorinated solvents traded by us are:-

  • CHLOROFORM
  • ETHYLENE DI CHLORIDE
  • METHYLENE DI CHLORIDE
  • PER CHLORO ETHYLENE
  • TRI CHLORO ETHYLENE
